Election Thoughts

Well, the election is over and even though I haven’t heard all of the final tabulations yet, it looks like the Republicans have retaken the House but not the Senate.  Now we’ll just have to wait and see if the Republicans were serious about following the Constitution and govern using that document.  I don’t trust either party.  Wait, that’s not true.  I do trust the Democrats.  I know what to expect from a Democrat.  I expect higher taxes and more redistribution (Marxist) programs; less liberty and more “social justice” (Marxism); and, treating the Constitution as if it were a “living document” which means it has no meaning at all.  With the Republicans, I expect and have heard lip service toward following the Constitution as it was originally intended but then ignore it when politically expedient.  My two Texas Senators, John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison won’t even acknowledge to me that there is such a document so I don’t expect them to follow it.  So I trust the Democrats more than I do the Republicans.  I just don’t happen to agree with the Democrats’ programs.  I don’t expect much from the Republicans just because they won other than slowing down the breathless “March-to-Marxism” that we’ve been on the past two years.

The people of California and Nevada continue to show that they do not believe in free markets and capitalism.  I conclude this because they continue to send   Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid to the Senate.  They support Marxist programs and were instrumental in giving us all socialized medicine.  I would think that there would be legal challenges to the election in Nevada due to all the fraud that was proven during the early voting.  Maybe we should call for a boycott of California and Nevada.  They called for one of Arizona for trying to follow the federal law and stop the illegals from entering the country.

In the local elections in my Texas County, it looks like a lot of surprising outcomes.  The county has been in control of “Yellow-Dog Democrats” forever but Republicans are ahead in the key races for County Judge, County Treasurer, and the State Representative.  It must be really cold down there in hell today.   The Democrat who has been the County Judge for twenty-three years now had considered the county his personal kingdom.  We have been his subjects for quite a while now.  New blood will certainly be welcome.

I’m looking for your thoughts on the election.
